Terms of use

Last updated: October 6, 2026.

1. Agreeing to these terms

Naamly is operated by Deval Ventures LLC ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and Deval Ventures LLC, and apply when you use Naamly on the web at naamly.app or in our iPhone and Android apps. By creating an account or using Naamly, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Naamly.

2. What Naamly does

Naamly helps two partners choose a baby name together. Each of you swipes names privately; names you both like become matches. You can add your own names, veto names, get AI name ideas, shortlist your matches and settle them in the Duel, try the full name aloud, ask family to vote from a link, and share a reveal card.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 to create an account. Give us accurate details, keep your sign-in (your Google or Apple account, or your email) secure, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Each account belongs to one person. A Nest is shared by at most two partners, and each person can be in one Nest at a time.

4. Your Nest, your partner, and your family

Your partner sees what the Nest shares (matches, the shortlist, the Duel, and names you added once they match), but never your individual swipes or vetoes.
Family vote links and reveal links work for anyone who has them. Share them only with people you trust; you can close a family vote at any time. Reveal pages are public to anyone with the link.

5. Names, meanings, and AI

Name meanings, origins, native scripts, popularity, and AI ideas are for inspiration. They come from public records, open datasets, our own review, and AI, and they may be incomplete or wrong. Some meanings are written by AI.
They are not cultural, religious, or legal advice. Before you decide, check anything important with a trusted source, such as family or a community elder, and check the naming rules where your child will be registered.

6. Free features and the Duel Pass

Free: 20 likes a day for each partner, matches, your own names, 3 vetoes each, the Duel, the full-name test, a reveal card, one family vote with up to 3 relatives, and 1 round of AI name ideas.
The Duel Pass is an optional one-time purchase for your Nest, not a subscription. It adds unlimited likes, personal deck filters, AI name ideas up to 5 rounds a day, up to 10 relatives on the family vote, and premium reveal card designs. It works for both partners on the web, iPhone, and Android. The price is shown before you pay.
On the web, Stripe processes the payment. In the apps, Apple or Google processes it, under their terms. On a new phone, "Restore purchases" brings back a purchase made in the app store.
Refunds: app-store purchases are refunded by Apple or Google under their policies. If a technical problem stops the Duel Pass from working after a web purchase, email team@naamly.app within 14 days and we will fix it or refund you. This does not affect any rights you have under the law. If a purchase is refunded or reversed, the Duel Pass is removed.
The Duel Pass belongs to the Nest. If both partners delete their accounts, the Nest and its Duel Pass are deleted too.

7. Using Naamly fairly

Do not add or share names, meanings, or votes that are unlawful, hateful, or meant to harass anyone, including on reveal pages and family votes.
Do not try to read other people's data, get around the limits on free features, or misuse family vote links. Do not copy the name library in bulk, scrape the service, or use bots. Do not try to break, overload, or reverse engineer Naamly.
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules.

8. Your content and ideas

You keep the rights to what you add, such as names, meanings, and votes. You let us store, copy, and display it only to run Naamly for you, your partner, your family voters, and anyone you share a reveal link with.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve Naamly without owing you anything.

9. Our content

Naamly, its design, and our compiled name library belong to Deval Ventures LLC and are protected by law. Names themselves belong to no one: the name data comes from public sources such as US Social Security Administration records, open datasets, and our own research. You may not copy or resell the library or the app.

10. Changes and ending

We may change, add, or remove features. If we remove something you paid for, we will tell you and offer a fair remedy.
You can stop using Naamly at any time and delete your account from Settings (Delete my account). We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or if we have to by law.

11. Disclaimers

Naamly is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will always be available, error-free, or that name information is accurate.

12. Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
If you break these terms or the law while using Naamly, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of claims that result from it.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be decided by the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top. For important changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Naamly after that, the new terms apply.
